Summary: 

Payroll Compliance Research 

Do you know where to find your answers to stay in compliance in payroll and tax matters? The internet can help you get the information you need to do your job better; but knowing where to go to find correct and relative information can make all the difference in sharing that information at your organization. In this session you will learn where to find federal, state, and local payroll related laws, regulations, government forms, and publications. As well as learn to 

• Identify key steps necessary to foster effective research for compliance 

• Identify various ways to navigate payroll compliance via various resources 

• Learn and apply research methodology when approaching tax items 

• Critically analyze research sources 

Tiffani is the Payroll Manager for the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board. At the community services board, along with her team, she serves the employees of the agency who continually develop an array of behavioral health, substance use disorder, intellectual and developmental disability, and prevention services for the surrounding communities. At the HNNCSB, she sits as Co-Chair of the Cultural Competency Committee, where they work with Executive Leadership within the Agency to address issues concerning Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within the behavioral healthcare industry and region.   

She has over 20 years of experience in the payroll and accounting industry and 11 years of state service here in the Commonwealth. Tiffani studied Accounting at Hampton University and received her Certified Payroll Professional Certificate in 2017. Tiffani is an active member of the American Payroll Association and currently is the President of the Hampton Roads Chapter of the APA (HRAPA) , where she has been an active member for over 8 years.  

She has served on the Virginia Statewide Payroll Conference Board since 2018 and currently sits as the Chair of the Speaker committee and Social Media. She is widely known for her highly energetic and innovative personality and has a real passion for payroll education, networking and building stronger payroll professional relationships, social media management, multi-generational mentorship. 

Tiffani lives in Newport News, VA with her husband Chad, and their three children Gabrielle (8), Makayla (7) , and Sterling (5). 

We will be using a ZOOM Platform for their presentation, as we get closer to the meeting date we will provide invites/links to attend the meeting virtually
