Since early March of 2020 the COVID-19 pandemic has changed our world and our everyday lives.  But with the US government working quickly to pass several levels of legislation that impact employers across the country it is almost impossible for the payroll professional to keep up to date.  This webinar is designed to review several legislative actions to include.?  On March 18, 2020, President Trump signed H.R. 6201 the Families First Coronavirus Response Act and on March 27, 2020 President Trump signed into law the H.R. 748, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act otherwise known as the CARES Act.  This Act had several portions that impacted employers and payroll department. 

Since March 2020 several legislations has been extended or changed with several executive orders and now the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.  This webinar will give the participant the information on how these acts function and where we are today. Detailed information on what employers need to know for tax credits and additional COVID Legislative issues will be presented.

Dayna Reum, FPC

Dayna is currently the Director of Payroll Operations at a large medical center in Chicago.  Dayna has been heavily involved in the payroll field over 20 years.  Starting as a payroll clerk at a small Tucson company, Dayna moved on to be a Payroll Team Leader at Honeywell Inc.  During Dayna’s time at Honeywell she obtained her FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) through the American Payroll Association.  She also received several merit awards for Customer Service and Acquisitions and Divestitures. Dayna is no stranger to teaching she has taught for the Metro Phoenix American Payroll Association and Chicago APA Chapter along with the Arizona State Payroll Conference.  Topics including Payroll Basics, Global/Cultural Awareness, Immigration Basics for the Payroll Professional, Multi-State and Local Taxation and Quality Control for Payroll, International and Canadian payroll.   Dayna has her CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) through the APA.  She also serves on the National American Payroll Association on the National Strategic Leadership Task Force, Government Affairs Task Force (PA Local tax subcommittee).  Dayna has received a Citation of Merit for her service along with being a Gold Pin member of the APA.  Besides her payroll accomplishments Dayna is certified in HR hiring and firing practices and is a Six-Sigma Greenbelt. 

We will be using a ZOOM Platform for the presentation, as we get closer to the meeting date we will provide invites/links to attend the meeting virtually
